We – WOOD POINT – are industry professionals in all wood-based materials, with years of experience and knowledge of timber, especially wood panels, and everything related thereto. The company was founded in 2000, and since its inception we have been specializing in wood panels materials. In this field, we have become industry experts and an important player in the Latvian market, and little by little WOOD POINT is becoming recognised in the largest international markets as well.

From a small family business with one sales point and a small sales volume, we have grown to two large store-warehouses on both banks of the Daugava with a constant supply of 3500–5000 m3 of different types of slab/board materials and a team of 25 employees.

• The store-warehouse is an innovative hybrid operating model for the industry – the opportunity to work both as a retailer and a wholesaler and to serve the widest range of customers, from individual buyers to large volume orders worldwide.
• For the convenience of customers, two sales points in Riga on both banks of the Daugava: 2B Aizputes Street “Finiera noliktava (Plywood Warehouse) “JŪRKALNES”” and 39 Vējstūru Street “Finiera noliktava (Plywood Warehouse) “RUMBULA””. Identical assortment of products in both trading venues.
• We also operate outside the borders of Latvia: a plywood warehouse “VILNIUS” has been established in Lithuania: Metalo gatve 2D, Vilnius. In addition to the usual purchase of goods on site, it is now also possible to order the necessary materials in Riga with actual delivery in Vilnius (Lithuania) and vice versa - if you place an order in Vilnius, delivery can take place in Riga (Latvia).
• Experience and professionalism – an individual approach to each client. We will help the owner of a small garden to buy the necessary board materials, as well as find the most suitable piece of plywood for a school workshop, we will provide materials for construction, carpentry or any other industry, we will assemble and deliver specific materials to manufacturers, traders or individual customers anywhere in the world.
• Consultations and recommendations – the ability to find a solution to every client's problem/question related to slab/board materials, including those that are not in our offer. Thanks to the long-term cooperation with suppliers and manufacturers, we have a wide base of contacts that we use to solve the issues needed by the client.
• The combination of the best price and quality – although the majority of our range consists of birch plywood, thanks to cooperation partners around the world, the product range also includes plywood of other trees and exotic species. Thus, we can offer customers the most favourable price for the best quality and various alternatives for both manufacturers and private buyers.
• Suppliers from all over the world – our cooperation partners include all the largest manufacturers of slab/board materials in the Baltic region and high-quality manufacturers and suppliers from various countries, such as Poland, Finland, Ukraine, Spain, Brazil, China, Malaysia. Historically, we have previously worked with those supplied from Russia and Belarus, but due to the current sanctions, we have replaced some of them with equivalent or alternative solutions from other countries. In order to support the Ukrainian economy, we have started cooperation with the largest plywood producer in Ukraine and several small Ukrainian companies that complement our assortment with excellent quality products.
• We are green-minded – we support the renewable wood policy and work with renewable wood. We carefully monitor that most of the materials we supply are produced from renewable wood resources and comply with the international FSC*, PEEFC** and CARB*** certificates.

WOOD POINT is one of the rare Latvian wood panel trading companies that thanks to competence and cooperation is able to provide international Worldwide trading chain service. This means that a customer from any country can order slabs/boards from us in the specification and volume they need, and we, using the wide network of cooperation partners, will ensure the fulfilment of the order without transporting it through Latvia.

*FSC certificate (Forest Stewardship Council) is a global non-profit organization created to promote responsible forest management worldwide. FSC certification ensures that products originate from well-managed forests and generate social, environmental and economic benefits. Forest owners and managers obtain the FSC certificate to certify that they manage the forest responsibly. FSC certification can provide benefits such as access to new markets.

**PEFC (Programme of the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international non-governmental independent non-profit organization that promotes sustainable forest management. It has been operating since 1999 and engages independent third-party auditors in forest certification. In order to promote the observance of good forestry practices, the extraction of wood and non-wood forest products in compliance with the highest ecological, social and ethical standards, certification is carried out throughout the supply chain.

***CARB (California Air Resources Board) is an organization that adopts scientific regulations and programs to prevent harmful human exposure to pollutants, including reducing formaldehyde emissions in composite wood products. CARB standards include hardwood plywood and chipboard and medium density fiberboards with thin MDF less than or equal to 8 mm. This standard also applies to products for sale.
